4 Poverty Interventions that just make sense
This newsletter is taking a slight turn this year and will be more focussed on global issues, personal development and a bit of money and careers thoughts. Along with regular videos on YouTube, subscribing to this newsletter is a great way to support it and you will have my forever gratitude.
Hello again friends,
It’s a new week and I’ve been battling some health issues - nothing serious but it is feeling like post-30 there is a LOT of upkeep to the human body. I’m trying to sleep, drink enough water, exercise and remember to take better care of my skin and teeth and I guess, sometimes it can feel like a lot piling up.
Anyway, this week’s newsletter is on something super close to my heart. The world is far from normal right now and there is so much that angers me. Sometimes, I really think that helping people get out of poverty long-term could really solve a lot of issues and help us build a more equitable world. In this week’s video on YouTube I break down why and how that could work.
The Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction Longlist is out - and it looks great. I’ve got Vulture Capitalism on my list.
I’ve been having lots of conversations about fertility with friends and as a woman of child-bearing age I have so many, many questions. The recent Alabama ruling is terrifying and Alisha Ramos - who’s newsletter Downtime I love - wrote a little piece about her experience here. I’m up for any in-person chats about fertility and women’s health with anyone who feels like at the moment and I’m going through a lot of learning on my own.
I read this in one sitting but goodness - the author explains coming of age in rehab and how the system to help teenagers off drugs is so flawed. I found the writing incredible and moving.
Sending lots of love your way,
Amira
